Road-trip snack bin
Updated: Oct 18
I've found that one of the biggest expenses of a road trip with kids is the snacks at gas stations. I also found that handing out snacks can take up so much time for the passenger. Therefore we have created "snack bins" for each child in the car.
Each child is given their own "snack bin" (you can use any small bin you may have or even a large plastic bag) and they fill it with nonperishable foods that can serve themselves.
Listed below are some tried and true snack bin ideas for road trips with your little ones (and teenagers).

Applesauce pouches
Beef sticks
Beef Jerky
Beef Steak
Dried fruit (apples, bananas)
Fruit leather
Granola balls
Nutty bars or other Little Debbie Snacks
Goldfish
Cheez-it's
Yogurt covered raisins or regular raisins
Peanuts
Dunkaroos
Pretzels
Fruit snacks
Granola bars
PBJs
Poptarts
Mini muffins (homemade or store bought)
